Moroccan Basketware

Sourced from Morocco’s revered palm trees, baskets, trays, and colored straw-boxes are hand-made in almost every village. Basketwork souks also can be found in cities such as Fez and Marrakech. Regional specialties include oversize straw hats traditionally worn by countrywomen in the Rif region (Chefchaouen and Tetouan) and, in the south, baskets with cone-shaped covers used by Berbers to carry dates.
